So after an amazing introductory box I was waiting excitedly for March’s glossy box to arrive. I opened it straight away but have waited to write this blog to see if my opinion would change at all with time. And I have to say I am less enthusiastic this month but it’s not all bad.
The box this month was a little less full so my initial reaction was disappointment. There was two full sized products. The first was an angled brush by Luxie beauty. It is a lovely brush, it’s pink and soft and doesn’t seem to have much fall out which is always good. It is a synthetic brush so can be used with cream, liquid or powder. They are also advertised as being 100% vegan and cruelty free. That added to the fact that they are really pretty makes it a double win. However a lot of the products I use just don’t seem to sit on the brush very well. I am loosing a lot of powder to the sink as it doesn’t make it to my face. I think it would be good for cream products. Unfortunately I don’t use a huge amount of them but I will add it to the brush collection all the same.
The next full sized product was a so Susan illuminator and bronzer duo. This product is also cruelty free. The colour payoff is good and I really like the highlighter. It’s not too glittery. The bronzer is matte, I’m personally not a fan of sparkley bronzer so it suits me, and it has a little mirror inside which is a bonus.
The next item was a sample of olay skin tone perfecting cream. I might sound a bit harsh here but that is not my intention. I did use the sample. It smells amazing, but it is miniscule. I got two sparing applications of the cream on my face and then it was gone so I couldn’t tell you if it is any good at perfecting my skin tone. I can say that the texture was nice, maybe a little greasy for me personally but nothing major. It took a while to absorb in but when it did it felt lovely and not too heavy on the skin. I probably wouldn’t rush out to buy it after this use but that isn’t to say nobody would. It just wasn’t for me.
Next I got a shampoo and conditioner from (minus) -417. Both sample sizes again but these were a bit more substantial. You don’t need a huge amount of them and the shampoo left my hair feeling really clean. The conditioner is my favourite of the two scents and with only a small amount it made my hair feel really soft and smooth.
Finally there was a Hey Honey facial serum. This product is my favourite by far. When you first squeeze it out of the bottle the texture is so strange it looks like goo. If you rub it between your fingers it separates into little blobs of gunge. But stick with it, it is amazing. When you rub it on your face it almost melts away, into this light sorbet like texture. It feels like a makeup primer with a kind of powdery finish and it made all my dry uncomfortable patches on my face feel so moisturised. This is definitely something I will go looking for after this sample is gone.
So all is well that ends well. It may not have been bursting at the seems this month however it’s about the quality and not the quantity sometimes and I have found some fab products that I will definitely be adding to my collection. I am looking forward to April now again to see what new bits are in store to pamper myself with. Hope everyone is having a great Monday.
